The Shariah Scholarship Award is part of the Fund for Shariah Scholars in Islamic Finance, which was established to enhance knowledge, research, talents, and intellectual discourse in the field of Shariah. Eligibility
The Scholarship is open to citizens of all countries.
Applicants are required to have a bachelor's degree in Shariah studies
from a recognised institution of higher learning, achieving at least a Second
Class Upper or its equivalent.
For the CIFP Scholarship, a special consideration will be accorded
to those with a diploma (or its equivalent) in Shariah studies, but
they must have at least 5 years working experience in the financial
industry.
Applicants are also expected to have secured admission to EITHER
a Masters or Doctorate programme in Shariah, specializing in fiqh
muamalat, at a recognised institution of higher learning, in a full-time
programme, OR the CIFP programme conducted by INCEIF.
Current students enrolling in the specified programmes at recognised institutions
of higher learning may also apply for the scholarship.
Applicants should not be in receipt of any other scholarship awards.

Award Package
Post-Graduate Scholarship

The Post-Graduate Scholarship will cover the approved tuition and examination fees, and the recipient will be provided a quarterly subsistence allowance.

Where and when applicable, other allowances such as for books and equipment, approved return air fare, warm clothing, relocation, end of study and thesis/dissertation completion, will also be provided.

CIFP Scholarship

The CIFP Scholarship will cover the registration and approved examination fees. In addition, the recipient will also be paid a study allowance.

Special Note: There is no employment bond attached to either
scholarships.

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) was launched in 1980 to promote and facilitate technical cooperation amongst developing countries based on the concept of self-reliance. The programme consolidates various forms of technical cooperation in areas where Malaysia has the experience and expertise. The Programme encourages the exchange of relevant experiences, pooling and sharing of resources and the development of complementary capabilities through:

Provision of scholarship and study awards for studies at various institutions in Malaysia;
Provision of training where participants are sponsored by third world countries/organizat ions;
Study visits and practical attachments;
Export of services and expertise in various fields
The MTCP implemented by The Centre for Foundation Studies and Extension Education (FOSEE), Multimedia University is based on the fact that the development of a country depends on the quality of its human resources. Such human resource quality can best be achieved through training. FOSEE under Multimedia University Melaka Campus is one of the many training institutions in Malaysia involved in this training.

Terms and Conditions of Scholarship/ Fellowship awards under the Malaysian Technical Co-operation Programme (MTCP)

1. General Conditions of Award:

Participants never participate in any MTCP or being awarded scholarship/ awards under the programme. Participants shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner compatible with their responsibilities as MTCP scholarship holders and abide by the laws, rules and regulations of the land and FOSEE, MMU. This scholarship can not be held concurrently with any other scholarship award. For lectures, participants are required to dress in long-sleeved shirts with ties, tailored pant and blazer or uniform. For formal occasions – suit, national costume or batiks. Ladies should be appropriately dressed in office attire.

Participants shall follow the programme approved for them. Request for change of programme will not be entertained. Participants should participate in all activities related to the programme. Participants are not allowed to participate in any political and/or commercial activities in any capacity whatsoever. Participants shall not take up paid employment during the tenure of their scholarship or serve on the staff of their Official Representatives in Malaysia.

Participants are NOT allowed to bring along their spouses or families for the duration of the course. Participants will be required to return to their own countries upon completion of the course or at the end of the tenure of the scholarship whichever is earlier.
The award may be terminated at any time for the reasons of unsatisfactory conduct, breaches of the conditions of the award, or failure to make satisfactory progress.
2. Travel Documents and Vaccination:

Persons seeking to enter Malaysia must be in possession of valid passports or other internationally recognized travel documents endorsed for travel to Malaysia. Such passports or other travel documents must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay allowed in Malaysia. In the case of a national passport not recognized by Malaysia, the holder must be in possession of a document in lieu of a passport obtained at the nearest Malaysian Mission abroad.

Travelers from certain countries are required to produce the Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate and other health certificates at the entry point in Malaysia.

3. Terms and Condition Covered by the MTCP for International Participants:

Fares
A return air ticket on economy class is provided. This is from the capital city of the recipient country to Kuala Lumpur and back. Expenditures such as Visa and transit fees, excess baggage fees are borne by the recipients.
Maintenance Allowance
Full board and accommodation
Daily subsistence allowance will be given if food and accommodation are not made available, especially during attachment or study-tour, other similar arrangements will be made.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees will be borne by the Malaysian Government under the MTCP.
Medical Treatment
Expenses for medical treatment in government hospitals/clinics will be borne by the Government of Malaysia if participants fell sick during the course. In case of admission of government hospitals will be eligible for First Class Wards (two bedded or more). Candidates must be certified medically fit to participate under this programme
Resource person
Resource persons will be local experts and people in the fields to be selected from the FOSEE, MMU senior officials.
Methods of Payment
The participants will receive allowance and other benefits as mentioned above from the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department, Malaysia through FOSEE, MMU.

Beasiswa Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship [Info Beasiswa Internasional]

The Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan are awarded by the Malaysian Government to the nominated students from the Commonwealth countries to study at the post- graduate level in Malaysia. This is a Government to Government scheme without any bond imposed by Malaysia.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be the Commonwealth citizens or British protected persons residing in countries of the Commonwealth other than Malaysia as listed in Appendix II. Applicants must be a graduate of a University or College in their own countries or holders of an equivalent qualification. Applicants must have a minimum standard of upper second class honours or CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at bachelor`s degree level.

In addition, applicants for PhD must possess very good result at Master degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. Scholarship will not be awarded to candidates wishing to undertake undergraduate studies, post-doctoral research, clinical training or second Master/PhD degree. Scholarship will be valid for only one degree and not eligible for continuation to another higher degree.

TENURE OF AWARDS
The awards for Masters degree are between 12 to 24 months depending on the courses. Awards for pursuing PhD degree are for 3 years. The academic term in Malaysia commences in July but candidates may also register in the second semester commencing in December. The Awards are only applicable for candidates pursuing full-time degree programme in Malaysia.

VALUE OF AWARDS
The value of the award has been designed to accommodate the scholar`s need throughout his/ her studies which covers the scholar`s living, study and travel expenses during tenure of the scholarship.
Each scholarship consists of:
- a return air tickets from recipient`s capital city to Malaysia;
- an approved tuition fees by the respective university;
- monthly maintenance allowance; a yearly grant for books and internal travel;
- thesis allowance, installation and termination grant.
Family allowance for accompanying spouse or children.

PLACEMENT IN MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITIES
University`s application for admission is solely the candidate`s responsibility. Proof of admission is not a pre-requisite to the award. Selection committee for Commonwealth Scholarship will only consider qualified applicants with outstanding academic achievement and professional performance.

Interested applicants are advised to apply before the beginning of the academic year which falls on the month of July for most of Malaysian university. The scholarship awarded does not guarantee a placement in the university. Admission to any program is by way of applications to the university. Applications must abide to the requirement and procedure for admission set by the university.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF AWARDS
The following conditions apply to all scholarship holders : Scholarship holders must not change their programme during tenure of the scholarship except with written permission from their university and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Scholarship holders must follow the approved programmes and abide by the university`s rules, regulations and codes of conduct.

Any suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of the award. Monthly allowances are not payable during suspension. Scholarship holders are responsible for securing an appropriate entry visa including medical examination. Scholarship holders must maintain satisfactory progress and good standing as stipulated by their host university and degree programme, or the scholarship will be withdrawn. Any periods of leave must be approved by the university and in accordance with the purposes of the Commonwealth Scholarship. It is expected that leave will be normally spent in Malaysia, but the university may approve a short period spent overseas.

A student wishing to travel overseas for an extended period would first need to establish medical or compassionate grounds before Immigration clearance could be obtained. Expenses for such travel are not included in the scholarship. The scholarships are tenable in Malaysian universities and research will normally be carried out in Malaysia. If appropriate it may be possible for a limited amount of research to be carried out in scholar`s home country but financing of such an arrangement would be the responsibility of the scholar. Scholarships holders are not allowed to take any paid employment in Malaysia during their tenure unless with written approval from the host university. Upon termination of studies, scholarships holders are expected to return to their respective home countries immediately This award is only given once to any successful applicant.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants should complete the application form ( in 2 copies ) attached with this document. The following documentation must be attached with the application form:
- A certified copy of the applicant`s current passport showing evidence of citizenship;
- The applicant`s academic records, testimonials and/ or references relating to the relevant study, co-curricullum activities, achievements;
- A letter from certified doctor declaring the applicant`s good health;
- Passport-size photograph (2 copies);
- Completed Medical Report;
- A clear and precise study or research plan;
- English language proficiency certificate or test score (if any);
- Admission letter for post-graduate study (if any); and
- Two letters of appraisal.

Notes:
All certificates and related documents submitted must be certified by a recognised official or by the institution that issued the documents and must bear the official stamp and signature of the certifier. Official translation in English is required if the transcript is in other languages. Malaysian International Scholarship for postgraduate study provides opportunities for students from countries with diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation with Malaysia to pursue higher education in Malaysia. The purpose of this award is to promote bilateral arrangement with the partner countries on the basis of government-to-government, and to encourage students from other countries to study in Malaysia with a view to facilitating future collaboration and exchange of researchers in the strengthening educational cooperation between Malaysia and partner countries.

Malaysian International Scholarship for graduate studies are available for postgraduate studies at the master's and doctoral defensible in Malaysian universities. The duration of the award 36 months for a doctorate, and between 12 to 24 months for the master's degree program.

ELIGIBILITY
The scholarship is open equally to qualified candidate up to 40 years of age at the time of application. Candidates should at the time of application, obtain a degree or equivalent qualification with at least upper second class honours, (or CGPA 3.0) for Master's programme; and hold a Master's degree with good grades for PhD programme.

The candidates must demonstrate outstanding verbal, reading and writing proficiency in the English language through one of the following:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or
Test administered by the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS).
If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview and/or take an entrance test or English Test conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education or the Board of Admissions of the particular university.

Applicants must be in good health, both physically and mentally.

APPLICATION TO THE UNIVERSITY
University's application for admission is solely the candidate's responsibility. Proof of admission is not a pre-requisite to the award. Selection committee for Malaysian International Scholarship will only consider qualified applicants with outstanding academic achievement and professional performance. Interested applicants are advised to apply before the beginning of the academic year which falls on the month of July for most of Malaysian university. The scholarship awarded does not guarantee a placement in the university. Admission to any program is by way of applications to the university. Applications must abide to the requirement and procedure for admission set by the university.

VALUE OF AWARDS
Each scholarship consists of:

a return air tickets from recipient's capital city to Malaysia;
an approved tuition fees by the respective university;
a maintenance allowance at the rate of RM1,000.00 per month;
a yearly grant for books and internal travel;
thesis allowance, installation and termination grant.

No marriage/family allowance for accompanying spouse or children.

Beasiswa: ASEAN Foundation Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies Beasiswa S2 ASEAN
The ASEAN Foundation (AF) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) have reached an agreement to develop quality human resources in the member countries of ASEAN through the offering of the AF-AIT scholarships.

The ASEAN Foundation, an initiative of the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established on December 15, 1997 to contribute to the prosperity and a sustainable future for the peoples of all ASEAN countries that now comprise Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and VietNam. He was charged with promoting a greater awareness of the ASEAN and greater interaction between people and their increased participation in the activities of ASEAN as well as to undertake development cooperation activities that promote the 'Mutual, address equitable economic development and reduce poverty.

The scholarship programme is part of the ASEAN Foundation Scholarships for postgraduate studies and funded by the Japan-ASEAN Solidarity Fund. The Asian Institute of Technology, on the other hand, is an institute post-1959, is a pioneer of the `Asia institution created to help meet the Irkutsk Region, growing needs for advanced training in engineering, science, technology and management, research and capacity building. AIT `s mission is to develop highly skilled and committed professionals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of the region and its integration into the global economy.

AIT is based in Thailand and has affiliated centres in other parts of the world. Ten (10) graduate scholarships are available for ASEAN nationals who wish to pursue a master's degree in AIT. The scholarship covers tuition and other academic expenses, and living allowances for a program of 2 years.

Four (4) grants will be awarded slots under the project "Capacity Building for Women, Poverty and the analysis of mobility development of road transport in the Greater Mekong."
The six (6) scholarships will be awarded for the different fields of study identified by the ASEAN Foundation as described below.

Eligibility

To be eligible, candidates must:

Be a true national ASEAN
Keep businesses (normally from a four-year program) or its equivalent in an appropriate field
Have above average undergraduate classes (minimum 2.75 CGPA)
Fulfil other requirements specified by the school, you apply to
AIT is an international institute whose English is the only language of instruction
Admission to the AIT requires proof of proficiency in the English language that can be met in one of the following areas: Presentation of an official test from any customer of the English standardized tests: TOEFL, IELTS , CU-TEP (Thailand), ARC (Lao PDR).

Accept return and / or to serve for at least 2 years in any ASEAN countries after completion of their studies.

In collaboration with the Harvard University Summer School, Center for Tropical Forest Science and the Arnold Arboretum (CTFS-AA) will offer biology course to be held in Sarawak and Sabah (East Malaysia) from 1 July to 5 August 2008. Ten countries of South-East and South Asia, the United States will join 10 students to study terrestrial and marine biodiversity, ecology and energy, with instructors from Harvard University and other institutions.

The forests and reefs in the north-west and north Borneo are some of the highest levels of alpha-diversity worldwide. The forests are preceded by orang-utans, hornbills, rhinos and thousands of species of trees, and the reefs offer some of the best diving in the world. We visit the world-class parks and protected areas (for example, Lambir, Kinabalu and Maliau Basin) to get a better understanding of abiotic controls on species composition, and will be opposed processes, which contributes to the conservation of biological diversity in forests with those operating on coral reefs .

In Borneo, intensive logging and offshore production had taken place for many years. Our course of study complex environmental today, including trips to sustainable, carbon-traded, and to restore the forest. We will also provide opportunities for students to meet with people living in and outside the forest in order to understand their motivation for change and forest resources, as well as consider the size of forest health changes.

A key element will be the development of skills in research projects, execution and analysis, based on statistical platform R. " Students will complete two independent projects from conception to presentation, and participate in a group project for coral reefs. Students will be able databases and web publishing skills through the development of community digital record of the trip.

This course is aimed at advanced students, recent graduates currently in the field of biological research, as well as entry-level postgraduate students. Travel, food, accommodation and course fees will be funded from the citizens of tropical Asia Nations (ASEAN, PNG, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China) on CTFS-AA program. Students will be responsible for other costs, and some students may be asked to pay for their international travel. Places may be available for non-Harvard, not Asia, paying students. Students will be selected to ensure broad international representation.
